Most best face swapper lists rank tools by how the writer felt about them. This one is built from two things you can check: which tools people actually search for by name, and what each vendor's own pricing page says the free tier does to your file.
The second question turned out to be the interesting one. Five of the six most-searched face swapper tools do not answer it anywhere on their pricing page — only Akool does.
Last updated: July 2026
TL;DR
- The ranking is search volume, not opinion. Vidnoz and Remaker lead US face swapper brand searches at 4,400/mo each, then Akool 1,600, Magic Hour 1,300, Pixnova 1,000, Artguru 480.
- Akool's free tier applies a full-screen watermark — stated in Akool's own comparison table, where Free reads
Full Screenand all five paid tiers readRemoval. A corner logo leaves clean frame around it; a full-screen overlay does not. - Vidnoz's pricing page has no watermark row at all for the free plan; it lists 720p export and paid tiers say "No watermark".
- Remaker, Pixnova and Artguru publish pricing pages we could not read, and third-party reviews of Remaker's watermark policy directly contradict each other.
- The only face swapper we ran ourselves was Nano Banana 2 — 8 credits per swap, no burned-in mark on the output.
How this best face swapper list was built
Two rules, both checkable.
Who gets on the face swapper list: US brand search volume for face-swap queries containing the tool's name, from our own keyword pool of 159k terms. If people are typing vidnoz face swap 4,400 times a month, that tool belongs in a list about face swappers regardless of what we think of it. Nobody was added because they pay an affiliate commission — we take none.
What we claim about each one: only what the vendor states on its own pricing page, fetched in July 2026, plus one tool we ran ourselves. Where a vendor does not state something, the table says so instead of borrowing an answer from a review site. That distinction matters more than it sounds like, and the next section is why.
What the free tier of each face swapper does to your file

Akool — full screen. Akool's pricing page carries a feature comparison across six tiers, and its Watermarks row reads Full Screen for the first column then Removal for the other five. Flattened out of its HTML table that row is just six words in sequence, so we cross-checked the column order against the neighbouring rows before trusting it: Processing Speed runs Slow / Medium / Fast / Faster / Fastest / VIP, Storage runs 5GB / 25GB / 50GB / 500GB / 1T / Customized, and License runs — / Personal / Personal / Personal / Business / Enterprise. All three ascend from the free column, which puts Full Screen on Free. You can repeat that check on any face swapper pricing page in a minute, which is the point. To Akool's credit it is stated plainly — and a full-screen overlay leaves no clean frame to crop to, so that free tier is a preview rather than an output.
Vidnoz — not stated. The free plan on Vidnoz's pricing page lists a 3-minute video cap, 1,800+ avatars and 720p export. There is no watermark line for it. The paid Starter tier (15 credits/month) does say "No watermark", which implies the free tier is not watermark-free — but implication is not a policy, and you would be inferring it rather than reading it.
Magic Hour — paid tiers only. This face swapper lists "Watermark-free exports" in the feature list of its paid plans. The free tier is not addressed.
The three face swappers whose policy we could not verify
Remaker, Pixnova, Artguru. All three serve pricing pages we could not read: they render client-side or return no usable content to a plain fetch. For Remaker specifically, two third-party review sites make directly opposing claims — one says photo face swaps are watermark-free on the free plan, the other says every free export is branded. We are not going to pick one and pass it off as fact.
Add them to Vidnoz and Magic Hour and that is five of six face swapper vendors leaving the answer off their own pricing page. The free tiers you are comparing may not be comparable at all — and any comparison that fills those cells with a confident ✓ or ✗ got the value from somewhere other than the vendor.
The one face swapper we ran ourselves
We tested Nano Banana 2's image-to-image face swap directly: four runs, 8 credits each at 1K. The output files carry no burned-in watermark.
More usefully, those runs produced a finding about prompting rather than about branding. swap the face also swapped the hair — the model brought the source hairstyle across, so the result was a different person in the target's clothes. Naming the hair in an explicit keep-list fixed it with nothing else changed. The full before/after and the prompt template are in our nano banana face swap prompt test.
You can run the same model on the Nano Banana 2 page. Rates are 8 credits at 1K, 12 at 2K, 18 at 4K, the cost preview shows before each run, and failed jobs are not charged. Starter is $248/year for 33,500 credits, which is about 4,100 swaps at 1K.
We are not claiming it beats the six face swapper tools above on output quality — we did not run them, so we cannot say. We can say what it costs and what it does to the file, which is more than four of them will tell you.
How to check a face swapper yourself in five minutes
Since the published face swapper information is unreliable, test rather than read.
1. Run one swap on the free tier and download the file. Not the preview in the browser — the actual download. Watermarks are frequently applied at export, so what you see on screen is not evidence.
2. Look at where the mark sits. Corner, tiled, or full screen. This single detail decides whether the free tier is usable for anything or is purely a sales demo.
3. Check the resolution of what came out. Free face swapper tiers commonly cap at 720p even when the source was larger. Vidnoz states 720p openly; others do not.
4. Read the licence line, not the price. Several face swapper vendors grant commercial use only on paid tiers. If the output is for anything public, that line matters more than the watermark.
5. Try one hard case. A three-quarter head turn with different lighting from the source is where a weak face swapper falls apart. A front-facing well-lit pair tells you almost nothing, because everything handles it.
FAQ
What is the best face swapper right now?
There is no defensible single answer, and any face swapper list that gives you one without disclosing its method is guessing. What we can rank is demand: Vidnoz and Remaker are the most-searched face swapper brands at 4,400/mo each. What we can verify is policy, and there only Akool states its free-tier watermark plainly — full screen.
Which face swapper is free without a watermark?
We could not confirm one face swapper among the six. Akool's free tier is explicitly full-screen watermarked. Vidnoz, Magic Hour, Remaker, Pixnova and Artguru do not state a free-tier watermark policy on their pricing pages. The Nano Banana 2 runs we did ourselves produced unmarked files, but that is a paid credit model, not a free tier.
Why do so many face swapper reviews disagree with each other?
Because most face swapper reviews are not testing. When a vendor does not publish a policy, a review site has to either test it or repeat another site's claim — and repeating is cheaper. We found two review sites making opposite claims about the same Remaker free tier.
Is a corner watermark the same as a full-screen one?
No, and collapsing them into one column is what makes most comparisons useless. A corner mark leaves the rest of the frame clean, so a tighter crop can sometimes rescue the shot; a full-screen overlay by definition leaves nothing to crop to. Akool is the only face swapper here that tells you which of the two you are getting.
How much does a face swapper cost if I skip the free tiers?
On the model we tested, 8 credits per swap at 1K — about 4,100 swaps on a $248/year plan. Vidnoz lists Starter as 15 credits per month at $2 per credit. Those two "credit" figures are not the same unit and cannot be divided against each other, which is the practical reason to work out cost per run on each vendor's own page before comparing monthly prices.
Does the best face swapper depend on photos versus video?
Possibly, and it is worth checking rather than assuming. Vidnoz's free plan, for instance, is described in video terms — a 3-minute cap and 720p export — while the credit packs are counted per generation. We did not verify how each vendor splits photo versus video pricing, so treat that as an open question to settle on the vendor's own page before you subscribe.
