A product mockup is a photograph of a product that has not been made yet. Traditional mockup generators are template libraries: you pick a pre-shot t-shirt, a pre-shot mug, and drop your artwork into a smart object. An AI product mockup generator skips the template. You upload your design, optionally a photo of the blank product, and describe the scene — a mannequin in a grey studio, a tote on a wall hook, a bottle on a bathroom shelf — and the model builds that scene with your artwork printed on the product.
That matters for the questions sellers keep posting: how do you show fifty colourways without fifty photos, how do you list a personalised board without carving inventory first, how do you get content for a Meta ad when the client will not film anything. The mockup is the image; the product can come later.
