Seedream 5.0 Pro AI Image Generator

Seedream 5.0 Pro is the top tier of the Seedream family. It takes a prompt, an aspect ratio and a quality setting, and it is the tier to reach for when the subject is a person, motion, or anything a viewer will study.

The top Seedream tier

Above 5.0 Lite, 4.5 and 4.0 — the one to use for the final image.

Quality is a real switch

basic and high are two different prices, not two labels on the same run.

Examples

Three images Seedream 5.0 Pro made here

Generated with Seedream 5.0 Pro on this site on 2026-08-04, unretouched, at the basic quality setting. Each one targets something the cheaper tiers tend to lose: selective motion blur, wet and reflective surfaces, and a foreground that stays sharp while everything behind it falls away.

What is Seedream 5.0 Pro?

Seedream 5.0 Pro is the highest tier ByteDance sells in the Seedream line, above 5.0 Lite, 4.5 and 4.0. The interface is the same as the rest of the family — a prompt, one of eight aspect ratios, and a quality setting of basic or high — so moving up a tier is not a different way of working, only a different price and a different result.

What you are buying is the difficult cases. Any modern model can produce a pleasant landscape; the ones that separate are a face under mixed lighting, a hand holding something, motion that is meant to be in one part of the frame and not the rest, and reflective material that has to stay material rather than turning into plastic.

Those are where Pro earns the gap. The quality switch matters more here than on the tiers below it, because on this model it is also the price: high costs roughly twice what basic does, so it is sent explicitly on every request rather than left to a provider default.

Why this tier

When Pro is worth the gap

The honest answer is: for the image you keep, not the ten you throw away. The workflow that wastes the least money on this site is to find the prompt on Seedream 4.0 or 4.5 at eight to ten credits a run, then generate the final on Pro once the wording is settled — the prompt transfers unchanged between every Seedream tier, so nothing is lost in the move. Reach for Pro directly when the subject is a person, when part of the frame has to be in motion and part still, or when the surface is glass, chrome, water or skin. Stay on 4.5 when the picture contains writing that has to be readable and little else that is hard, and stay on 4.0 when the image is decorative.

01

People and faces

The subject where tier differences are most visible and least forgiving.

02

Selective motion

Blur that belongs to one element while the rest of the frame holds still.

03

Reflective material

Glass, chrome, water and wet surfaces, which cheaper tiers tend to render as plastic.

Features

Feature overview

What the top tier accepts, and where it is the same as the rest of the family.

Text to image

One prompt in, one image out, with no source material required.

Eight aspect ratios

1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 2:3, 3:2 and 21:9 — the same set as 4.5.

Basic and high

The quality switch, which on this tier is also roughly a doubling in price.

PNG or JPEG

An output format option the lower Seedream tiers do not expose.

How to use

From prompt to final image

Four steps, and the first one is where the money is saved.

01

Find the prompt lower down

Settle the wording on Seedream 4.0 or 4.5 first. It transfers to Pro unchanged.

02

State the light and the lens

Direction of light and a focal length do more for a photoreal result than any adjective.

03

Say what moves and what does not

Selective motion has to be described as such, or you get either a still frame or a blurred one.

04

Only then go high

The high setting roughly doubles the cost, so spend it on the frame you already know works.

Use cases

What people generate with it

The images that were going to be looked at closely anyway.

01

Portraits

Faces under mixed or difficult light, where a tier down starts to look synthetic.

02

Hero and campaign images

The single image at the top of a page, where one generation has to land.

03

Product photography

Glass, metal and liquid, shot the way a studio would shoot them.

04

Cinematic stills

Frames built around depth, atmosphere and a single point of focus.

FAQ

Seedream 5.0 Pro FAQ

Common questions about the top tier of the Seedream family.

Lite takes only a prompt and a size and runs at a flat low rate; Pro adds the quality switch, an output format option and a noticeably higher ceiling on hard subjects like faces, motion and reflective material.

About 11 credits at the basic quality setting and about 21 at high. The aspect ratio does not change the price.

basic, unless you change it. It is sent explicitly on every request because on this model the setting is also the price.

Usually not. Find the prompt on Seedream 4.0 or 4.5, which cost less per run, then generate the final here — the prompt carries over between tiers unchanged.

Not on this page. Seedream image-to-image is a separate model id on the provider and only the text-to-image path is wired here.

Credits are returned automatically, unless the request broke the content policy.
