What is an AI aging filter?
It takes one photo and rewrites the face as it would look decades later — forehead and nasolabial lines cut deeper, the jawline softening, lips thinning, skin turning translucent with age spots, hair going grey — while holding on to the features that identify the person. That last part is the whole difficulty.
Ageing a photograph is easy; ageing a photograph so the result is still obviously the same human is not, and it is why most cheap versions produce a generic old face with your hair colour. Yes — it is the same control run the other way. Ask for a specific target instead of a vague one: "in their early twenties" gives a far better result than "younger". One clear target gives the model one younger version to build: skin tightens, the hairline fills back in, and the eyes that make it you stay exactly where they were.
No. It produces one plausible version, weighted by what faces in general do over time. Genetics, sun exposure, weight, smoking and luck decide the actual outcome, and none of them are visible in your photo. Treat the output as an illustration, not a forecast.
