Most AI line art fails one specific test, and it is not an artistic one.

The best sheets close every region cleanly so the colour has a place to stop, keep every line even and dark, and leave every space free of grey shading so a pencil can work over it. Name the vibe, not just the object
"Aesthetic bedroom desk with a record player and fairy lights" produces a sheet somebody wants to colour. "Desk" produces clip art. The description is the entire difference in output quality.
Symmetry gives you an hour of colouring
Mandala and pattern layouts carry far more colouring time per sheet than a scene does, and they never look babyish. Ask for radial symmetry and dense bands toward the edge.

Say what is in the scene, concretely
Three to six named objects beats an adjective. "Skateboard against a brick wall, plant pot, bike wheel" gives the drawing structure; "cool stuff" gives it a shrug.
- Shape
Pick scene or pattern before you start
They are different jobs. A scene reads as a picture and colours quickly; a mandala or repeating pattern takes far longer to fill and is the safer choice as a gift or a class set.
- Constraint
Keep the no-shading clause in
It is the one instruction the model most wants to ignore, because grey shading makes a drawing look finished. Remove it and you get something beautiful that cannot be coloured.

Because the drawing instinct won. The no-shading clause is in the default prompt for exactly this reason — if you rewrote the prompt, put it back, and say "line art only, no greyscale fill" rather than just "black and white", which a model reads as permission to use grey.
The output is a raster image sized for a full page, so print it full-page on A4 or US Letter with fit-to-page for the sharpest lines.
