The model deletes the tattooed pixels and rebuilds skin in their place from the skin around them — matching tone, texture and the anatomy that has to run continuously through the gap.
The reason people search this is almost never vanity about the tattoo itself. It is a headshot for a job in a conservative industry, a wedding photograph a relative asked about, a modelling submission with a no-visible-ink brief, or a passport-style portrait with rules about the frame. In every one of those cases the tattoo stays exactly where it is; only the picture changes. That distinction matters, and it is why this is an editing job rather than a medical one.
Our own run is the pair above: a forearm with cursive script across it, and the same forearm without. The thing to check is not that the lettering is gone — any blur tool can achieve that. Check that the skin where it was is not smoother than the skin beside it, and that the faint vein running under the words did not stop at the edge of the erased area and start again on the other side. That continuity is the entire difference between an edit and an obvious edit.
Two honest limits. Large, dense or heavily saturated pieces are harder than thin linework, because there is less surrounding skin to infer from and more area to invent. And this is a photograph edit only — nobody's actual tattoo is affected, and if what you want is a real-world solution, see what a cover-up could look like instead.

Script and fine linework leave plenty of surrounding skin to rebuild from, so those runs come back cleanest.
The pose, the clothing, the lighting and the background stay exactly as photographed — only the inked area is touched.
Most of the quality is decided by how much clear skin the model can see.
Crop so there is a generous margin of untattooed skin around the piece. That margin is the reference the rebuild is made from — crop tight to the tattoo and the model has nothing to copy the texture from.
"Erase the tattoo and leave ordinary bare skin, same tone and texture, veins carrying through, no blurred patch" works far better than "remove the tattoo". Naming the replacement is what stops the model returning your photo unchanged.
Judge at full size, not on a thumbnail. The tells are all small: a soft rectangle, a hair that stops mid-arm, a patch of skin with no pores. If you find one, rerun rather than trying to fix it by hand.
Three briefs that have nothing to do with regretting the tattoo.
Law, finance, medicine, a client-facing profile in a firm with unwritten rules. The tattoo stays; the corporate directory photo does not have to argue about it.
Casting calls, stock libraries and product shoots routinely specify no visible ink. Editing the frame is the difference between submitting and not.
A wedding album, a grandparent's framed print, a picture that will hang in a hallway for thirty years. Same instinct as repairing an old damaged photo: the goal is a picture everyone is happy to look at.
What people check before trusting the result.
No, and it is important to be exact about that. This edits a photograph. Your tattoo is unchanged, and nothing here is a substitute for laser removal or a consultation about one. What it changes is which pictures of you show it.
Because "remove the tattoo" can be read as a caption describing the image rather than an instruction to change it — we hit exactly this in our own testing on the demo above. Rewriting the prompt to describe what should be there instead (bare skin, matching tone, veins continuing through) fixed it on the next run.
Partly, and with more visible invention. A large piece leaves little reference skin, so the model is reconstructing an arm rather than patching a gap — muscle shading and highlights are often subtly wrong at that scale. Small and mid-size pieces on a limb with clear skin around them are where results hold up at full zoom.
Only if you ask. Left alone it targets the ink and leaves the rest of the skin as photographed, which is usually what you want — a portrait with every mark removed stops looking like a person. Name anything else you want gone explicitly.
Not here. This is a single-image edit, and applying it frame by frame to a clip would flicker as each frame invents slightly different skin. Video ink removal is a different job than the one this page does.
Over HTTPS for the edit, into your own history, and nowhere else. It is never used to advertise, and deleting it removes it. Every output is AI-generated.
