What is Grok Bot?
Grok Bot is a team of always-on agents rather than a single assistant. In xAI's own words, they "have their own computer, work inside tools and apps like you do, and keep working 24/7." You message one like a colleague, hand off a job, and it comes back when the work is done or when it needs your approval.
A computer of its own
This is what separates Grok Bot from the assistant inside the Grok app. Per the launch post, Bots "share a computer of their own in the cloud, so jobs do not stall when you step away." The product page adds the operational half: "Log Grok Bot in once. It uses your apps and websites just like you would."
The consequence xAI states plainly is the whole pitch: Bots work across apps, tools and websites "including platforms with no clean API or MCP." Conventional automation stops where the integrations stop; an agent driving a real browser session is not bounded that way.
How it differs from a chatbot
A chatbot returns text. Grok Bot is built to land the work where a human would put it — in the CRM, the ticket, the inbox. xAI's stated in-house examples: a sales Bot updating the CRM with call transcript notes and drafting follow-ups, an ops Bot seating new hires and processing invoices received in Gmail, and an engineering Bot reproducing a bug in the product UI, filing the ticket, then handing the fix to a debugging Bot.

Two of the three eligible plans are Cursor's, not xAI's. Cursor's public pricing page lists Individual plans from $20/month and Teams from $40/user/month, with Ultra and Premium sitting above those entry tiers — Cursor puts their monthly figures behind a toggle, so treat any number you see quoted elsewhere as unconfirmed. xAI's launch post names the three eligible plans and no price of its own.
The Cursor connection
One detail sits in plain sight on xAI's own pages: the Linux build is served from downloads.cursor.com, the package is named Grok_Bot_0.16.0.deb, and the sales contact link points at cursor.com/contact-sales?product=grok-bot. Two of three eligible plans, the download host and the sales funnel all route through Cursor. That 0.16.0 is also the version xAI is shipping the Linux package at.
How to use Grok Bot: five steps
1. Confirm your plan first
Grok Bot access starts and ends here: the launch post lists SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium, and nothing else. Enterprise accounts join a waitlist for future access.
2. Install the desktop or iOS app
Grok Bot ships as an app. Get it from xAI's download page; the Linux build comes as a .deb package direct from the Cursor CDN.

3. Create a Bot and message it like a teammate
Create your first teammate, then send it a task the way you would text a coworker. xAI's own onboarding example is a sales brief: pick eligible prospects from a Google Sheet, research them on the web, pull contact context from Hex, Sumble and Salesforce, then draft email and LinkedIn sequences in the user's voice. The Bot renames itself to match the job — in the demo, to "Sales Outbound."
xAI positions this against the rest of the agent market explicitly: "Other AI tools may ask you to set up and build workflows and routines first. With Grok Bot, simply message a Bot to take on a task and it gets it done."
4. Sign it in once
The product page demo signs a Bot into Zendesk to work a support queue — "Log Grok Bot in once," and the session lives on its cloud machine rather than your browser.
5. Teach it a workflow, then run Bots in parallel
To hand over a process, xAI says to ask a Bot to follow along the next time you do the job: "It watches the steps and remembers how you like the work done," saves it as a routine, takes corrections, and runs it alone next time. This is the feature most worth using early.
People inside the company run several Bots at once with one managing the others. Bots message each other, share context in threads, and coordinate in a group chat — passing work, assigning ownership, and pulling you in only for judgment calls.
