PixAI Review 2026: Free Credits, Real Prices, No Refunds

PixAI is free to start, but its headline "2,800 images a month" only holds if you finish every mission every day, and two-thirds of those credits come from watching ads in the app. Log in once a day and you get about 375.

PixAI review verdict: 3.5 / 5. PixAI is an anime-first generator with 1.8M+ community models and LoRAs, a flagship model (Tsubaki.2), and a free daily credit claim that never expires. The numbers to know before paying: 10,000 free credits a day (about 12 images at PixAI's own 800-credit figure), Starter from $7.99/month billed annually ($10 monthly), and web payments are non-refundable under PixAI's Terms of Service. Everything below was read from pixai.art, docs.pixai.art and blog.pixai.art on September 13, 2026.

What is PixAI?

PixAI is an AI art generator built around anime and character art. Its homepage calls it "The World's #1 AI Anime Generator" and advertises 1.8M+ community models and LoRAs. Its main creation tools include:

  • Tsubaki.2, PixAI's flagship model, plus other models named in its docs such as Haruka v2
  • Mio.2, a chat-style creation mode
  • Tools including OC Maker, VTuber Maker, Anime Character Creator, AI Figure Generator, Genshin and Sonic OC makers
  • Image-to-video and text-to-video, for members only
  • LoRA training on your own dataset (3 to 10 free slots a month for members)

PixAI's Terms of Service (section 2.2) require users to be 18 or older. The service is run by Troph Limited, a Hong Kong company, per the same terms.

Is PixAI free? What 10,000 daily credits actually buy

Every account can claim 10,000 credits a day, and credits never expire.

PixAI's own docs say "Generating 4 images in Tsubaki.2 Standard mode costs just 3,200 credits" — 800 credits per image. On that figure, the daily claim alone is 12.5 images, or about 375 images in 30 days.

The same docs page promises "over 2,800 images a month" from free credits. We added up every non-member source it lists:

PixAI free credits math: 10,000 daily login credits versus 75,000 credits from every daily mission including app ads

Daily source (non-member) Credits per day
Daily login claim 10,000
Watch ads (app only) up to 50,000
Publish 10 artworks 10,000
Share 3 times 3,000
Receive 20 likes 2,000
Every mission, every day 75,000 ≈ 2,812 images / 30 days
Login only 10,000 ≈ 375 images / 30 days

So the 2,800 figure is real arithmetic, but it assumes the maximum on all five sources every single day. Ads alone are 50,000 of the 75,000, and PixAI's free credits guide marks them App only. Without the app ads, the maximum is 25,000 a day.

The per-image cost is not one number

PixAI publishes three different answers. The docs use 800 credits per image. The free credits guide says "A standard image generation typically costs around 700–1,000 credits". The membership page says 2,000,000 monthly credits is "enough to generate up to 2,000+ images", which implies roughly 1,000 each. A user on r/Pixai_Official reported 1.4–1.6k per picture. The credit-cost page explains why: model, aspect ratio (squares cost the most), batch size, HiRes and Face Fix, steps, and Priority mode (on by default) all change the price.

PixAI pricing 2026: Starter, Plus and Premium

PixAI sells three membership plans. Prices below are web prices, read from the rendered plans page on September 13, 2026.

PixAI pricing 2026 table: Starter, Plus and Premium monthly and annual prices, monthly credits, daily claims and top-up bonuses, read September 13 2026

PixAI plan Billed monthly Billed annually Monthly credits Daily claim Top-up bonus Free LoRA trainings
Free $0 $0 10,000
Starter $10.00 $7.99/mo ($95.88) 300,000 12,000 +50% 3/month
Plus $30.00 $22.99/mo ($275.88) 1,000,000 20,000 +100% 5/month
Premium $50.00 $35.99/mo ($431.88) 2,000,000 30,000 +150% 10/month

Every paid plan adds unlimited Turbo Mode (the plans page claims "7.6× faster generation"), image-to-video and text-to-video, and early access to new models. Plus and Premium add Private Mode for video.

Two official price lists disagree

The docs list monthly billing as $9.99 / $29.99 / $49.99, while the plans page shows USD 10.00 / 30.00 / 50.00 — a cent apart, but two official sources disagree. The app also costs more: the official FAQ says App Store and Google Play prices are higher because of store fees.

PixAI credit packs: the $1 deal and the bonus stack

If you do not want a subscription, there are credit packs that never expire:

  • One-time offers: 50,000 credits for $1.00 (once per account), 200,000 for $6.00, 450,000 for $12.00
  • Monthly offer: 648,000 credits for $29.90, once a month
  • Standard packs, currently shown with a +100% bonus: 200,000 for $5.00, 400,000 for $9.90, 1,200,000 for $29.90, 3,600,000 for $89.90

How member bonuses stack

Member bonuses stack on top. The credit pack guide gives the formula: a Plus member (+100%) buying a 10,000-credit pack during a +20% campaign gets 22,000 credits, because every bonus is calculated on the base amount.

PixAI refunds, downgrades and card changes

PixAI Terms of Service 3.5: "All purchases are final and non-refundable, unless otherwise required by law." The same clause warns that repeated refund requests "may result in account suspension or termination".

The web payment FAQ and docs add the details:

  • No downgrades on web. To move to a cheaper plan, cancel and wait for the current one to expire.
  • No annual-to-monthly switch mid-term, and PixAI generally does not offer refunds.
  • You cannot change the card while auto-renewal is on. Cancel, let the plan expire, then resubscribe.
  • Web purchases cannot be invoiced.
  • Upgrades charge in full on monthly plans and reset your billing date; annual-to-annual upgrades charge only the difference.
  • Platforms behave differently: on iOS, the docs say an upgrade refunds the unused portion proportionally; on Android it converts to extra days.

If you might change your mind, the rules favor starting on the free tier or a $1 pack.

PixAI commercial use and content rules

PixAI's Terms of Service (4.1) say PixAI makes "no claims on the ownership or copyright of AI-generated images", and that "all created content may be freely used by yourself." That is a plain statement about PixAI's own claim. Community models and LoRAs are made by other users, so check the terms on any model you build a commercial piece on. A thread on r/Pixai_Official makes the same point: if one component of a generation does not allow commercial use, the result does not qualify.

The Terms ask users to label graphic or sexually explicit content with the nsfw tag system (ToS 8.1). One stale detail: the Terms, last updated July 7, 2025, say credits "may only be used for the purpose of generating images on PixAI", while the current docs list LoRA training, video and cosmetics as credit uses.

Is PixAI legit?

The concern is billing: PixAI's Trustpilot page showed 27 reviews and a 2.9 average when we searched on September 13, 2026, and the snippet quoted a reviewer complaining about money spent. Web purchases are non-refundable, so use the daily credits for a while before paying.

PixAI pros and cons

  • 10,000 free credits a day, and PixAI credits never expire

  • Video locked behind membership
  • Two official price lists disagree by a cent

PixAI vs Kavel

PixAI is for community anime LoRAs; Kavel is for picking named image and video models.

PixAI's edge is a style someone in its community already trained. Kavel's edge is choosing the model by name and making both images and video on the same site.

PixAI review verdict

3.5 / 5. PixAI's strengths are concrete: 1.8M+ community models and LoRAs, a daily free claim that adds up, and a one-time $1 credit pack. It loses points on the money side — no refunds on web, no downgrades, a per-image cost stated three ways in its own docs, and a free-image headline that leans on app ads. Use the 10,000 daily credits for a week, count how many images you actually keep, and only then pick a plan.

PixAI review FAQ

Is PixAI free?

Yes. Every account can claim 10,000 credits a day, which is about 12 images at the official 800-credit figure. Doing every daily mission, including app ads, raises that to about 75,000 credits.

How much does PixAI cost?

On the web, Starter is $10 a month or $95.88 a year, Plus is $30 or $275.88, and Premium is $50 or $431.88, per the plans page on September 13, 2026. App prices are higher.

Does PixAI give refunds?

Generally no. PixAI's Terms of Service say all purchases are final and non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise. PixAI's docs say app refunds go through the App Store or Google Play.

Can I use PixAI images commercially?

The terms say PixAI claims no ownership or copyright over generated images and you may use them freely. Check the terms of any community model or LoRA you used.

How many credits does one PixAI image cost?

It depends on settings. The docs cite 800 credits in Tsubaki.2 Standard mode; the guide says 700–1,000; aspect ratio, batch size, HiRes, steps and Priority all change the cost.

Can I cancel PixAI anytime?

Yes. For web purchases, PixAI says you can cancel from Membership & Credits → Manage Auto-Renewal. Member features stay on until the paid period ends, and your credits carry over.
