We opened eleven free AI image generators without an account on August 31, 2026, typed the same image prompt into each, and pressed generate. Two of these image generators produced an image. The other nine stopped us — but only three of those nine said so before we started typing.
Two produced an image with no account: Bing Image Creator and Kavel. Both returned a finished, unwatermarked image to a browser that had never signed in.
Runway is the one to know about. Its guest workspace accepts your prompt. The moment you press enter, the page becomesauth.runwayml.com/…/register. It does not block you at the door; it blocks you after you have typed.
Adobe Firefly opens the whole studio — model picker, Style Kit, aspect ratio, composition panel — with the Generate button greyed out.
Leonardo, the one with the famous 150 free tokens a day, redirects to a login page before you see a single control.
Kling puts a "Welcome to Kling AI" modal over its own text-to-video page. Luma's entire site is three sign-in buttons.
"No sign-up" has three meanings and only one of them means you get an image. This page separates them by pressing the button.
What "no sign-up" means on a free AI image generator
Every roundup answers this question by reading a pricing page. A pricing page cannot tell you what an image generator does when you press generate, so we pressed it on all eleven.

The three kinds of "no sign-up" image generator
One: the image generator actually works
You type, you press, you get an image. Two image generators out of eleven.
Two: the door is open and the image generator is empty
Adobe Firefly hands an unregistered visitor its entire studio — a Firefly Image 3 / Image 5 model picker, Style Kit, aspect ratio, content type, composition uploads — with Generate greyed out. Krea does the same with its app shell. Nothing lies to you, and no image comes out either.
Three: the image generator lets you commit first
This is Runway, and it deserves its own section.
Runway's no sign-up workspace takes the prompt, then asks who you are
Open app.runwayml.com without an account and the URL rewrites itself to /video-tools/teams/guest/ai-tools/generate. The word guest is in the path. You get "What do you want to create?", a working input, a model row with Seedance 2.5 and GPT Image 2, and template cards.
We typed a prompt. The image prompt went in, every character. We pressed enter.
The next page was auth.runwayml.com/interaction/…/register, asking for an email.
That is a different thing from a login wall, and worth naming. A login wall costs you a click. This costs you the sentence you just composed — the design collects your intent first and prices it second. Every roundup that lists Runway as usable without an account looked at the first screen and stopped.
The most generous free image tier has no sign-up path at all
Leonardo publishes the most generous free number in this category — 150 fast tokens a day, which we quoted in best free AI image generators. Request the generator without a session and you get a 302 to /auth/login?callbackUrl=…, then a row of buttons: Canva, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Continue with Email.
The image tokens are real. They are also invisible until you hand over an identity. "Free" and "no sign-up" are different products, and the roundups that merge them into one column are describing something that does not exist.
Kling is blunter about it. Its own text-to-video URL loads the generator and then drops a "Welcome to Kling AI" modal on top of it, offering Google, Apple or email. Luma skips the pretence entirely: the whole of dream-machine.lumalabs.ai is a headline and three sign-in buttons.
What the two working no sign-up image generators actually did
Bing Image Creator, no account, finished image
Bing is the surprise, because most lists still describe it as needing a Microsoft account. It does not. The header showed Sign in and a boost counter of 0 the whole time. We typed, pressed, waited, and the page returned a finished image tagged MAI-Image-2.5-Flash at 3:2 — no watermark, with share, download, Edit image and Save controls live. Microsoft has also quietly moved off DALL·E here; the model label on the result is its own.
Kavel, no account, 2 credits per image
Kavel was the other image generator that finished. The generator loads with the sidebar reading Guest — Not signed in, the cost line reading Cost 2 credits, and the balance reading 10. After pressing generate, the preview panel switched to "Generating your image…" and the balance read 8. Ten credits, five images, no account, nothing stamped on the output — you can try the same thing here, and the credit cost of every model is on one page if you want to know what the next tier costs before you sign up for anything.
One honest limit on our own side: this test is about images. Kavel's free video engine costs more credits per clip than an anonymous visitor starts with, so the no-account path is real for images and not for video. We would rather write that here than let you find it by pressing the button.

Which free AI image generator works with no account at all?
Bing Image Creator and Kavel, tested August 31, 2026. Both returned a finished image to a browser with no session and no cookies.
Does Bing Image Creator require a Microsoft account?
Not to generate. We produced an image while the page still showed a Sign in button and a boost count of zero. Saving to a collection is a different question, and that is where an account starts to matter.
Can I use Runway without signing up?
You can open its guest workspace and type a prompt. You cannot generate — pressing enter redirects to Runway's registration page.
Why do so many "no sign-up" lists get this wrong?
Because opening a page and pressing a button are different tests, and only the first one can be done at scale. Runway, Firefly and Krea all look usable in a screenshot of the first screen.
Is a no-account image watermarked?
Not on either tool that produced one. Bing's result had no watermark, and neither did ours.
What about free limits once I do sign up?

How we tested every no sign-up image generator here
One headless Chrome per vendor, each with a brand-new profile directory, English locale, desktop viewport, no cookies and no extensions. Each generator page was given 20 seconds to settle, then the same prompt was typed through the browser's own input pipeline — not injected into the DOM — and submitted with the vendor's own control or the enter key. Screenshots were taken before and after. Rows marked not verified are ones where the vendor's prompt field did not accept programmatic typing; they are not claims about those products.
